Now teaching breastfeeding classes!
I’m so happy that I’ll be teaching breastfeeding classes starting in March at the Flutterby Birth Services studio in Burnsville.
I’m going to cut through the information that bombards new parents about breastfeeding to get to the good stuff, discussing the basics of how breastfeeding works—the biological processes your body goes through, normal newborn reflexes and behavior, and what to expect in the early months. You’ll get evidence-based information delivered with a big dose of FUN.
Spring dates are as follows:
Sunday, March 16
Sunday, April 13
Sunday, May 18
6:00 to 9:00 p.m.
Cost: $50 (one partner or other support person, such as a relative or friend, is encouraged to attend for no additional charge!)
Speaking at La Leche League of Minnesota and the Dakotas 2014 spring conference!
Last year’s LLL conference was so awesome and popular that they’ve expanded it to a two-day event. The first day is geared toward professionals who work with parents—La Leche League leaders and members (of course), WIC peer counselors, IBCLCs, midwives, doctors, doulas, everyone!—and the second day is geared more toward parents, although the pros will find value in the presentations as well.
I’ll be presenting about how professionals can support parents who are breastfeeding multiples, discussing the roadblocks they face and how these can be overcome. I’ll also provide a lot of practical tips that probably do not occur to the average professional unless they’ve raised some multiples themselves. This session is on Friday, May 2 at 2:15 p.m.
